Charis Cares Outreach Leaders – George and Missy Thomson

Married in June 2004, Missy and George share a passion for serving Jesus and helping people. They have many years of experience serving, building and leading outreach programs in Thomasville, High Point and Greensboro.
Charis Cares was born out of a passion and a vision to help people in need. Missy was a single mom struggling to support 2 small children; barely making ends meet, she knew what it meant to struggle.. making just enough to survive, but not enough for any assistance.. nearly starving herself because of the fear of where the next meal was coming from. Meanwhile, George was living paycheck to paycheck struggling to make ends meet on his own, nearly homeless.
Missy and George met in 2003 and discovered a common passion and purpose to live for God and serve people because others helped them. Now they find joy and purpose helping change the world.. one heart, one life, one community at a time.

Hospitality Coordinator – Mark “Bear” Shutt

Mark Shutt grew up in the Baptist church in the Winston-Salem and Raleigh area. He has over 25 years of experience in the local church including  Ushering, Lighting and Camera Ministry, teaching Sunday School and Assisting in Minister of Evangelism and Hospitality.
Mark broke the bonds of legalism and man-made traditions in his life during a miraculous 5 1/2 year healing journey that was completed in 2008.  Mark had always been taught God brought sickness to teach or correct something in his life.  During his journey Mark begin to listen to Kenneth Copeland and Andrew Wommack.  As he listened to these anointed ministers he learned the truth that God loved him and it was always God’s will to heal him.  Finding out that God is Our Father and Not “The GodFather” waiting to punish him when he messed up changed his life forever.
Mark was an internal part of the launch team of Charis Church.  He currently oversees the Hospitality Team which includes ushers, greeters, and security.  According to Mark, “If you want to Experience the Next Level of Serving and Loving God Come Join Us at Charis Church.”
