---Vision, Mission, and Core Values

Vision Charis Church exists to see the Triad saturated with the knowledge and presence of God.

Mission The mission of Charis is to grow people in Christ and help them discover their life’s purpose.

We believe as each person comes to know Jesus, who they are in Him, and begin to discover and fulfill their purpose, the knowledge and presence of God will saturate the Triad.

Values We are called to make disciples. A disciple is a learner/follower of Jesus, therefore our values center around revealing the person and character of Jesus!

1. Honor the Word of God – Jesus was the word made flesh that dwelt among us. We believe the number one way to reveal Jesus is to honor the word of God. We as a church want to endeavor to never change the word of God to fit our lifestyle, personal preferences, or culture, but rather change our lifestyle and personal preferences to fit the word of God and impact our culture. John 1:1, 14 and Romans 12:1-2.

2. Love – God is love and he loved us so much he gave Jesus for us. God’s love is intentional and unconditional. We want to reveal His love to the world around us. 1 John 4:18, John 1:17.

3. Fire – God is a consuming fire. Jesus was a passionate person and he wants to ignite passion in all of our hearts. He didn’t begin his ministry until he was baptized with the fire of the Holy Spirit and he also wants to baptize us with his Spirit to release His power into this world. Hebrews 12:29, Luke 3:16, Acts 2:3

4. Give – God is a giver. Giving is in his DNA. God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. Jesus gave his life for us and then gave us different ministry gifts to bless us. We want to be a generous church that gives to those around us. John 3:16, Romans 8:32, Galations 1:4, and Ephesians 4:11.

5. Humility – The one thing Jesus said to learn of me was that “I am meek and lowly of heart.” Jesus was God manifest in the flesh, and He certainly would have been justified in being arrogant, yet, He was just the opposite. He made himself of no reputation, and made himself a servant to humanity. Humility simply stated is dependence on God; not thinking more highly or lowly of ourselves than God does. We want to be a church that is humble and allows God to live through us. Matthew 11:29, Philippians 2:7.

6. Serve – Jesus came into this world to serve, not to be served. He humbled himself and made himself a servant and put the needs of others in front of His own needs. We want to serve each other and our world. Matthew 20:28, Philippians 2:5-8.

7. Multiply – Jesus spent his ministry pouring himself into his disciples. He told them they would do the works he did and even greater works because he went to his Father and then committed his ministry to them. Prior to his ascension he commanded his disciples to go make disciples. Jesus replicated himself and then commanded his disciples to go and do likewise. We want to be a church that multiplies and makes disciples. Disciples who do the same works Jesus did. John 14:12, Matthew 28:18-20.

8. Go – The first 2 letters in God spell Go. Jesus didn’t wait for people to come to him, he went to where they were. Jesus’s final instructions to his disciples were to go into all the world. God has called us be a church that goes and touches the world around us. Mark 4:23, Matthew 20:18-20.
